Experience:  Three years’ experience with residential rental housing management or related field required, including rent collection and relevant record keeping, and maintenance of accurate client files.

Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred in business administration, management, real estate, hospitality.  In lieu of degree, 5 or more years of relevant experience may suffice.

Primary Skills:  Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communications skills are necessary as well as problem solving and leadership capacity. Demonstrated excellent customer service skills are essential for success. The ability to interact at all levels with campus and system-wide officials is mandatory.

Other Skills: Microsoft Office products including Windows, Excel, Word, and Outlook.  Must be able to read architectural drawings.

The ability to do physical tasks that exert moderate physical effort (50 to 75 lbs.)

Financial Aid Counselor

The Financial Aid Counselor is expected to support the implementation of the institution’s financial aid strategy by packaging institutional, state and federal funds for new and returning students while maintaining federal compliance, guidance and best practices.

Maintenance Technician – Grounds

McPherson College welcomes applications for the position of Maintenance Technician – Grounds.

A Maintenance Technician – Grounds is a full-time staff member of the Facilities Management department.  This is a full time, 12-month, non-exempt or hourly position and is eligible for a generous employee benefits package.

As a staff member, a Maintenance Technician – Grounds is expected to work toward the objectives of the Facilities Management department.  The primary duties include all mowing, trimming, and edging of campus.  The responsibilities include performing tasks that maintain the campus lawns, trees, shrubs, flowerbeds, and water sprinkler systems, organizing a plan for snow removal and leading this job function, and maintaining grounds equipment such as mowers, snow blowers, rototillers, and other equipment.  Additional duties include monitoring trash pickup and managing the application of chemical fertilizers, pesticides, and herbicides.  Light maintenance and repairs on electrical, plumbing, and HVAC building equipment including boilers, grounds equipment, and miscellaneous other duties such as interior painting during inclement weather.

A Maintenance Technician – Grounds is expected to work 40 hours per week – 8am to 5pm, Monday through Friday. Alternate scheduling to include evenings or weekends may occur from time to time. Participate in a weekly 24/7 rotating schedule of on-call responsibilities

Some tasks may be performed in adverse environmental conditions such as wind, rain, ice and snow or may expose the Maintenance Technician – Grounds to dust, pollen, bacteria or mold.

 

A Maintenance Technician – Grounds must be able to work in a team environment, display excellent customer service skills at all times and complete duties within deadlines.  This position may supervise up to three (3) student employees.

  2. Three years’ experience with powered lawn equipment including commercial riding lawn mowers.

Financial Aid Specialist

Assistant Football Coach

McPherson College welcomes applications for the position of Assistant Football Coach.  This is a 12-month, exempt, full-time position and is eligible for college benefits.  This position reports to the Head Football Coach. The successful applicant will be responsible for developing, implementing, and teaching the defensive and/or offensive strategies and techniques for the football program. Interpersonal Skills:  Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communications skills are required.  Must have the ability to connect with and work well alongside the coaching staff, various members of the athletics department and campus, and student athletes.  Must be able to lead and manage all aspects of a player position group.  Must be able to help student athletes grow and develop academically, athletically, and socially.  Must be willing and able to manage and recruit an area of assigned high schools, preparatory schools, and community colleges.

Assistant Athletic Trainer

The ideal candidate will assist in the instruction, supervision, planning, and coordination of the assessment and treatment of injuries for all student-athletes of McPherson College.   The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing proper medical coverage as directed by the Head Athletic Trainer. Coverage can, but may not be limited to, home events, away events and other camps or practices.

This ideal candidate will assist the Head Athletic Trainer with insurance claims processing and proper medical documentation through maintaining quality medical records on McPherson College student-athletes. Furthermore, the ideal candidate will assist in supervision of athletic training work-study students, as well as the maintenance of inventory through regular inventory checkups. There may also be an opportunity to assist the team Orthopedic in their facility with intake, evaluation and care of patients.

Van Drivers

McPherson College is seeking van drivers to drive 15-passenger vans. These positions are temporary, nonexempt or hourly positions with no expectation of college benefits. These positions report directly the Athletic Department.

Responsibilities will include: operating a passenger bus and transporting McPherson College students and authorized personnel safely and efficiently over specified routes to and from various activities.
